Exclusions
Cases that Are Expressly Excluded from Coverage, Even for Advice Only, for Individual Students and/or Student Organizations Include, but Are Not Limited to:
- Admiralty
- Bankruptcy
- Business Activities of Student other than limited assistance regarding entity formation procedures
- Claims Against/Disputes with: State of Florida; University of Florida; Board of Trustees; Board of Governors; and/or Other Eligible Plan Participants (For issues involving the University of Florida, please contact the UF Ombudsman.)
- Court representation outside of Alachua County
- Disputes between UF students
- Disputes in which the amount in controversy is under $100 or exceeds $15,000
- Immigration and Naturalization
- Incorporation and Partnerships other than limited assistance regarding entity formation procedures
- Income Tax
- Issues involving any entities related to the operation of a student organization, such as its national organization, house corporations or realty boards, or governing bodies
- Matters the attorney believes to be clearly frivolous, without merit, or would otherwise violate the rules regulating the Florida Bar
- Patent, Trademark, Copyright, Intellectual Property
- Personal Injury
- Real Estate
- Wills and Trusts
